TREES

A child is born;
A loved one dies.
The wheel turns;
Time flies.

But the pine tree stands,
Surveying all.
Through blizzard and sun,
Spring and fall.

With roots deeply planted,
and supple boughs.
It cares not
For the whys and hows.
